Dream Girl is a movie which make you laugh with its comedy and also touches your emotions lot of the time. Karamveer Singh (Ayushmann Khurrana) from his childhood having a quality of talking very nicely in the female voice for that reason he always getting the female lead roles mainly in all the mythological drama like Ramayana and Mahabharata as Sita and Radha. But from starting he always want to ply even a small role of male character in drama.To play the character in these plays are the compulsion for Karam because his shop and house are mortgage in bank because his father have taken lot of loan from banks.He want to do some regular job and his father Jagjeet Singh(Annu Kapoor) also want this for him but still didn’t got any such job yet. 
But one day Karam seen an add in the newspaper that giving the surety that every month selected candidates can get 70,000 as salary. This add was of a call center where Mauji (Rajesh Sharma) is the owner. Karam reached in that given address. At first Mauji have rejected him but after a lot of request from Karam he have allowed him to join.There all the employees are female and all used to talk with the those peoples who call in their call center basically it’s a sex chat and call .Mostly all the peoples who call there are men who don’t have their partner in life. Karanveer shocked after knowing this and started answering the calls in the female voice with a name of Pooja. 
After knowing his skills and seen it that how sweetly he talking with the peoples in the female voice Mauji takes him and hired him permanently in a job and given him the advance salary of 50000.But the father didn’t know the fact that where he is working, Karam told him that he got a job in a well reputed MNC and given all his advance payment to him.

He make a huge fans of him who knows him with the name pooja. Lot of the peoples call now and want to talk with pooja only .But some of them calls regularly Rajpal Kirar(vijay Raaz) is one of them who is the Police Officer frustrated in home because of his wife and in police station because of his habit of telling shayaries or poetry all the time. Even once in the FIR report he have written shayari(poetry) .Everyone feel annoy because of his habit and no one want to hear anymore shayaries from him. But now he find Pooja Ji (Ayushmann Khurrana) and always used to tell his shayaries /Poetries to him over phone.

Karam’s father having a shop where he used to sell the funeral items. One day Karam go to one of their customers home to deliver a product to him which he have ordered.There he meet with Mahi(Nushrat Bharucha)and he attracted in her beauty. Karam in his own funny way attracted her and shortly they both love each other.

Rajpal, Toto, Roma, Mahi’s brother Mahinder and even his own father Jagjeet are some of the people who regularly calls for pooja and talk for the long time. In starting Karam don’t know about their real identities but later on when he knows about all of them then he was really shocked.Now later on all these peoples want to marry with pooja because of her friendly nature and sweet voice which attracts them all.

And one day  one of the caller of pooja try to suicide by cut veins of wrist because he invited her his birthday party and pooja denied to come.And after some days his another caller Rajpal told him that he is going to give divorce to his wife.

Karam feel bad that because of him these things are happened and he decide to leave this job and also decided to to tell this to his lover Mahi but when he go to her home he came to know that his brother Mahinder also is in a love with Pooja and want to marry her.After knowing this Karam didn't tell the truth to Mahi.

His boss Mauji become angry on him that he will not accept his resignation and if he left the job then he will tell the truth to all peoples in the society where he live and also to his father that who is Pooja.Then Karam’s father bring two sherwani in which one for Karam and the another one for himself and told him that he have selected the women who will be his new mother. Actually he was the fifth regular caller of pooja and want to marry with her.

Now as his boss Mauji threatens him then he have no option and will go again to the job and talk with the anger with everyone there. Karam decided to short out all the problems that arises because of him.With this intention he go to the police officers house to make everything right there between Rajpal and his wife. But he can’t solve the problems and misunderstanding between them.

Then Karam Go to his girlfriend house and told to her grandma that her grandson want to marry with a call girl. So please stop him to do so because spoil his life.

Then as a muslim women in burka Karamveer go to his father and told him that Puja is my duplicate man and my real name is Zubeda having 10 brothers and sisters and I am too much younger from you .In the evening Karam came to home and father Jagjeet Singh tell these all things to him,Karam tell father that how can you marry with a muslim women just forget her.

And next day morning Karamveer see that some painting is going on in his home.His father already become a muslim and making more rooms for the pooja(Zubeda) brothers and sisters.

Karam also tell to Roma that who loves her as Pooja,that Pooja have the boyfriend and will marry with him so please  stay away anf leave the thinking of marrying with her.Now after knowing this Roma want to meet her boyfriend Anurag.

Finally Karam Become very frustrated with all these and chases his lover Mahi and tell her everything and takes her in the office also to show. There the call centre owner Mauji misbehaved with Mahi and then she slapped him in front of all his staff.Then Karam left and again started to play the role of Radha as previously he is doing.At that time police officer Rajpal come with Maujiwho have told to him the Karam killed Pooja.

Finally in front of everyone Karam reveals that he has been impersonating pooja till date but now he left that job. Karam have given very emotional speech there on growing loneliness amongst people today.Then Roma comes with the real pooja which proves that Mauji telling the wrong to the police about pooja’s murder. Rajpal arrested Mauji because he is exposed now.Now all whether its Toto,Mahinder, Jagjeet and Roma perfectly know about the fact that Karamveer has been impersonating pooja all the while.
Meet Bros compose all the music in the film.Radhe Radhe,Dil Ka Telephone,Ik Mulaquaat,Gat Gat and dhagala lagali are the songs in the movie.Later on because of the copyright issue "Dhagala Lagali" song removed from the movie.All the lyrics is written by Shabbir Ahmed and Kumaar.

This film giving a social message on loneliness and social media friends which creates the world and friends virtual.This movie is performing very well and have a box office collection of more than 200 crore rupees whether the total budget of making this movie is 33 crores.This movie finally proves one of the biggest hit of 2019.
