Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Anees Bazmee. It is a standalone sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and stars Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, and Kiara Advani. The plot follows Ruhaan Randhawa, who has to pretend to be a fraud psychic to deal with the return of Manjulika, a malevolent spirit hell-bent on vengeance against the Thakur family. The film's score was composed by Sandeep Shirodkar while the songs were composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Sameer, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Mandy Gill and Saaveri Verma. Initially set for release on 31 July 2020, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was theatrically released worldwide on 20 May 2022 and received generally positive reviews from critics. The film earned ₹266.88 crore (US$33 million) worldwide to become the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022.

As the night proceeds, the spirit of Manjulika is unleashed and begins attacking the people present in the mansion. With the help of the Pandit brothers and their wives, Ruhaan and Reet come up with a plan to trap the spirit of Manjulika in a bottle, which was earlier used by Debanshu to trap spirits. However, their plan fails and the spirit of Manjulika possesses Trisha, revealing that she was the one who was having an affair with Sagar. The possessed Trisha attacks everyone and Ruhaan eventually manages to trap the spirit in the bottle.

In the end, it is revealed that the entire situation was staged by Ruhaan and Reet to teach the Thakur family a lesson about their discriminatory behavior towards Anjulika and their obsession with marrying off Trisha. They had hired actors to play the roles of the Pandit brothers and their wives and had orchestrated the entire sequence of events. The Thakur family realizes their mistake and apologizes to Anjulika, while Ruhaan and Reet leave the mansion.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a well-made film that manages to balance comedy and horror in a satisfying way. The film's plot is engaging and keeps the audience guessing till the very end. The performances by Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, and Kiara Advani are top-notch and add to the overall charm of the film.

The film's score by Sandeep Shirodkar is haunting and adds to the eerie atmosphere of the film. The songs, composed by Pritam and Tanishk Bagchi, are catchy and memorable. The remix single of the 2007 film's title track by Neeraj Shridhar is a fun addition to the film.

The cinematography by Sudhir K. Chaudhary is beautiful and captures the grandeur of the mansions in Jaipur and Lucknow. The film's direction by Anees Bazmee is solid and manages to keep the film engaging throughout.

However, the writing of the film could have been better. Some of the jokes fall flat and the film's climax feels rushed and underwhelming. The editing could have been tighter as well, as some scenes drag on for too long.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an enjoyable film that is worth a watch for its performances, music, and cinematography. While it may not be a perfect film, it manages to deliver a fun and entertaining experience for the audience.

As the wedding day arrives, the Thakur family and guests gather at the mansion. Ruhaan and Reet come up with a plan to trap Manjulika's spirit and end her curse. They convince the family to hold a puja in the room where Manjulika is locked up, and during the ceremony, Ruhaan switches the real sacred thread with a fake one that he had blessed with holy water. When Manjulika's spirit appears, Ruhaan uses the fake thread to trap her and recites a prayer to send her soul to the afterlife.

The plan works, and Manjulika's spirit is finally laid to rest. The Thakurs apologize to Ruhaan for their behavior and offer to help him with his career as a psychic. In the end, Ruhaan and Reet bid farewell to each other, and Ruhaan reveals that he is actually a successful businessman who pretended to be a psychic for fun. Reet forgives him and invites him to her wedding, where he reveals the truth about his identity and shares a dance with her.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a well-made horror-comedy film that manages to balance its scares and laughs effectively. The performances by the cast are top-notch, especially Tabu's portrayal of Manjulika's vengeful spirit and Kartik Aaryan's comedic timing as Rooh Baba. The music and cinematography are also notable, creating an immersive and engaging atmosphere.

However, the film does have some flaws, including a predictable plot and some unnecessary subplots that detract from the main story. The editing could also have been tighter, as some scenes feel dragged out and could have been trimmed for pacing. The film's soundtrack is a mixed bag, with some songs being forgettable and others feeling out of place in the film's tone.

Overall, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a fun and entertaining film that is worth watching for fans of horror-comedies. It is a worthy successor to its predecessor and stands on its own as a unique and enjoyable experience.
