Vikram Vedha is a Hindi-language neo-noir action thriller movie directed and written by Pushkar-Gayathri, jointly produced by YNOT Studios, Friday Filmworks, Reliance Entertainment, T-Series Films, Jio Studios, and Theme Studios. It was released on 30 September 2022, and it stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, with Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf, and Yogita Bihani in supporting roles. The film is inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi and is a remake of the directors' 2017 movie with the same title. The story follows an honest police officer named Vikram, who is determined to track down and kill a notorious gangster called Vedha.

Vikram, a senior superintendent of police, is an honest police officer who is determined to eliminate the criminal activities of Vedha. Vikram's best friend and colleague, Abbas, is in charge of an encounter unit in the Special Task Force (STF) responsible for capturing Vedha. The unit stages a fake encounter in which Vikram kills an unarmed man to avoid further investigation, and as they plan for another operation, Vedha surrenders at the police station. When Vikram questions Vedha, he offers to tell him a story. The first act of the story narrates how Vedha became a dreaded gangster who warns his younger brother Shatak to stay away from crime, but Shatak is forced to deal drugs by a rival gangster, Babloo. Shatak is caught by the police, confesses, and implicates Babloo, who is arrested.

Babloo is ordered by his boss Shiv Prasad to assault Shatak, leaving a permanent scar on his hand. Vedha asks Vikram whether he should kill Babloo or Shiv Prasad. Vikram replies that Shiv Prasad is the real culprit, and Vedha implies that he killed Shiv Prasad. Vedha's lawyer, who is actually Vikram's wife Priya, intervenes and bails him out. Vikram realizes that the unarmed man framed by them to avoid investigation was actually Shatak, based on the scar on his hand. Concerned that Vedha may try to harm Abbas, Vikram rushes to save him, but finds him and Chanda, Shatak's friend, shot dead. The inspector general dismisses it as a botched encounter, and Priya refuses to reveal Vedha's whereabouts to Vikram. Frustrated by this, Vikram raids Vedha's tenements and captures him. Vedha then requests Vikram to hear another story.

The second act of Vedha's story follows Shatak, now grown up, offering to launder Vedha's income by investing it in shares. Vedha's boss Parshuram Pandey invests INR 1 crore (approximately US$130,000) in this venture. However, Chanda is supposedly kidnapped, and the money is missing. Chanda returns and reveals that she stole the money to start a new life, but returned because she loves Shatak. Vedha returns the money to Pandey, who orders him to kill Chanda. Vedha asks Vikram whether he should respect Pandey and carry out the order or disobey him and support Shatak and Chanda, thus inciting a gang war. Vikram advises him to support Shatak, and Vedha attacks and subdues him. He tells Vikram to investigate Shatak's and Abbas's deaths.

Vikram begins his investigation with Abbas's informant, who led them to Shatak's hideout but finds that the informant has been killed. He and his unit then try to find the killer.

A gunfight ensues, during which Vikram and Vedha fight together against the corrupt officers. They manage to overpower the officers and bring them to justice. Vedha, satisfied with the resolution of his story, surrenders himself to Vikram. In the end, Vikram contemplates the nuances of good and evil, realizing that there is more than just black and white.
