OMG 2, a comedy-drama film in the Indian Hindi language released in 2023, explores the topic of sex education in Indian schools. It's both written and directed by Amit Rai and serves as a spiritual follow-up to OMG – Oh My God! from 2012. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam.

The movie hit theaters on August 11, 2023, and within its first six days, it raked in a whopping ₹113 crore worldwide. Remarkably, it achieved "clean Hit" status by the second Friday despite facing stiff competition from Gadar 2.

The story revolves around Kanti Sharan Mudgal, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, who is a simple man, devoted father, and caring husband. When his son is wrongly accused of misconduct at school due to misinformation and misguidance, Kanti decides to leave town with his family. However, a divine intervention leads him to uncover the truth, prompting him to take legal action against those responsible.

The film features Akshay Kumar as the Messenger of Lord Shiva, Pankaj Tripathi as Kanti Sharan Mudgal, Yami Gautam as Kamini Maheshwari, and several other talented actors in various roles.

The journey of OMG 2 began with rumors in January 2021, with initial reports suggesting Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal would reprise their roles from the first installment. However, this was later denied by Rawal. In June 2021, the sequel was officially confirmed, featuring a fresh storyline with Akshay Kumar, along with the additions of Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and Arun Govil.

Filming commenced in Mumbai in September 2021, with Pankaj Tripathi starting the first schedule, followed by Akshay Kumar joining in the second schedule in October 2021. The third schedule took place in December 2021.

The film's soundtrack, titled "OMG 2," features music composed by Vikram Montrose, Hansraj Raghuwanshi, Djstrings, Pranaay, and Sandesh Shandilya, with lyrics by various artists. Two singles, "Oonchi Oonchi Waadi" and "Har Har Mahadev," were released in July 2023.

The movie's marketing campaign included the release of a poster featuring Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva in October 2021, followed by a teaser in July 2023 and the official trailer in August 2023.

Regarding certification and release, the film faced some controversy due to its subject matter, which blends sex education with religious themes. Initially advised 20 cuts and an (A) certificate, the filmmakers insisted on an (U/A) certificate and eventually received an (A) certificate with 25 modifications. The film was released in theaters on August 11, 2023.

OMG 2 has received positive reviews, critics and audiences have praised its bold approach, powerful performances, social relevance, and humor. It has been commended for delivering a social message effectively and generating discussions on important issues. As of August 15, 2023, the film has grossed ₹107.14 crore worldwide.
