A Sincere, Heartwarming Slice-of-Life Family Drama
From Million Dollar Studios—the production banner behind beloved feel-good hits like Good Night and Lover—comes Tourist Family, directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth. Bringing Sasikumar and Simran together for the first time, the film leaves behind high-decibel rural violence and crime syndicates in favor of a relatable, poignant family narrative. Blending situational humor with sensitive human emotions, Tourist Family captures the unspoken anxieties, comedic frictions, and resilient bonds that define everyday middle-class households.
Plot Summary
The story revolves around a modest, close-knit family trying to navigate a whirlwind transitional phase. When an impromptu vacation opportunity arises to break their mundane routine, the household—led by an earnest family man (Sasikumar) and his pragmatically minded wife (Simran)—embarks on an extended road journey. What begins as a light-hearted holiday quickly becomes an eye-opening emotional odyssey. Encounters with eccentric travelers, sudden road mishaps, and hidden domestic dilemmas force the family to confront suppressed grievances, unfulfilled dreams, and what it truly means to stand by one another.
